Alfred

"Why do we fall master Bruce? So we can pick ourselves up again.." I think we could all use an Alfred in our lives, someone who can clean our batcaves and take care of us and the things that are important in our lives. Yes, no one can be Batman without Alfred. "..someone who rattles the cages.."

That was pretty random but hey there is some good gospel application in that.. I think its pretty much true.. We fall so we can grow, it's really the only way and yet we don't have to learn from experience. Because of Adam and Eve we already know what it feels like to "fall". Without them we wouldn't have the scriptures and God's commandments. Truly no one learns by "experience" in so much as everyone learns by Christ's perfect example. An interesting concept because Christ never did "fall" and yet when we learn, we actually learn by His example when it gets down to it, and by nothing else. When we are learning by "experience" we are really learning to apply the example of our Savior's life to our own.

Anyway! This past week was a rough week but ended with an awesome Baptism! A way cool guy named Quin, who is about 17 (kinda like another way cool guy I know who's 17)got baptized! He is from china and has been being taught by the missionaries since June. Christianity was something new to him and his family. We have been working with him and his mom since we got here in Lake Murray and hey he was baptized because he knows its true!I know it is only the Holy Ghost that can convince and convert the heart of a person and not me, and I am grateful for that. His mom, Yi, is concerned about what her family in China will think if she joins the church. Quin, will be getting the Aaronic Priesthood next Sunday and hopefully be able to baptize his mom the next weekend! Transfers are coming up next week but I feel fairly confident that we are sticking here in Lake Murray.. There will be 18 new missionaries coming in that transfer so who knows.. crazy things could happen.

I guess I want to bare my testimony. This work, it is real. The reality of it is ALMOST hard to believe, but it's not. I know that Jesus Christ is Perfect! He is a never changing being! (1 Nephi 29). His work really is to bring about our immortality and eternal life. The simpleness of it all is within the commandments. The Word of Wisdom, The Law of Chastity, The Law of Tithing, The 10 Commandments; therein lies happiness in proving God that those commandments are REAL and literally insure our happiness and blessings in this life! I have a testimony that Adam is the first prophet we know, I have a testimony that Moses was a real man, a literal prophet of God, I know that Nephi saw the Son of Righteousness and bore his actual testimony in the Book of Mormon, I know that Joseph Smith was simply another man that the Lord did a great and marvelous work through, that he was a Prophet of God and the Prophet of the Restoration, and last of all, I know, that Jesus Christ lives, he is our Savior and Redeemer, that those men were simply His prophets, and he will come again! I bare that testimony in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Fact: A son can only be as awesome as his mother!
