The Tender Mercies of the Lord.‏

have been so blessed this past week to experience some of the great individual tender mercies of the Lord for me specifically this past week. It began with prayer when I asked the Lord for a specific blessing. Everyday we as missionaries promise people blessings if they pray and ask SPECIFIC questions. "God, is the Book of Mormon true? Was Joseph Smith a REAL prophet?" By so doing they can receive SPECIFIC answers! It is awesome how prayer works, but we as Latter-Day saints probably forget this principle of prayer as taught by the Savior, "Ask, and ye shall receive..." On this particular morning this past week I decided to turn from my usual direction of prayer of asking for things like.. direction on this or that, strength for this and that, or understanding for this and that.. I decided that morning to actually ask for something specific and asked the Lord a question. Shortly after the prayer I had totally forgotten what I had prayed about, it just wasn't on my mind. I went throughout the entire day not thinking about it. That day was spectacular! It just went so well to the point that Elder Adams and I were laughing a little bit as we peddled on our bikes through the misty weather back to the apartment. It wasn't until that night that I kneeled down at my bed and began to pray before going to sleep that I realized I had been given a specific answer to my prayer that I had altogether forgotten.. It was awesome, it was more significant than that but I feel like that should suffice for the point of the story; The Lord answers our prayers. If we ask for direction of course He will give it to us, but it is when we ask specific questions that we can receive the specific answers the Lord would have us receive! An example of that is very present in missionary work. Someone can pray and say, "direct me to the true church", "help me find out if this is true", "give me direction if it is according to thy will", and other such things can be said which are good as those prayers are, but it is so much better to be able to ask questions more specific, because God will answer! "Is this church the only true church?", "Is there a living Prophet here today", "Is the Book of Mormon truly another testament of the divinity of Christ?"... We too outside of gospel related things can receive specific answers to our questions, whether it be about school, work, friends or family, the principle of prayer is still the same!

I hope everyone is doing way good. I'm doing pretty good myself! Our District is going to find, teach by the spirit, and baptize before the end of the transfer and we will truly be tired, but tired in the Lord. This is Burn-out December! We will work our hardest so we feel dead at the end of the transfer, working every second that we can and giving it our all.. Then even though we will be dead tired, we will keep going and going and going! I miss you all and hope everyone is doing well!
